Xenakis' striking piano concerto entitled Synaphaï, performed masterfully by pianist Geoffrey Madge was greeted with vigorous applause. Geoffrey said that he just loved playing this piece with Brussels Philharmonic.
It was not the first time, though, that he played a concert with Maestro Tabachnik: in 1975 they had performed Synaphaï for the first time, together with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg. Since, Geoffrey Madge has performed it more than 80 times, all around the world.
The concerto is said to be extremely difficult.
