Sunshine at Montmatre, thunderstorm at Cité de la musique!

Rehearsal with Brussels Philharmonic and Michel Tabachnik at Cité de la musique: sun and blue skies over Paris, but inside the concert hall, we have just survived a huge storm! On the programme today: Strauss' Alpensinfonie & L'Ascension by Olivier Messiaen. 105 musicians have travelled to Paris to play these marvellous pieces, that are hardly ever played at all. Even those who have played for more than 30 years admitted it was their first time playing Alpensinfonie, and they were thrilled to take part in this production.
